Woodruff Prize
The Gathering Place is honored and grateful to be the recipient of this year's Woodruff Prize awarded by the Trustees of the Woodruff Foundation. This prize recognizes and honors an organization (and an individual) doing superior work in the mental health and/or chemical dependency fields. We are being recognized for the children's programming that we provide to individuals and families touched by cancer. The Gathering Place will receive the award, which includes a $10,000 prize, at the Woodruff Foundation annual luncheon on Monday, November 5, 2007.
2007 Pillar Award
Eileen Saffran, founder and executive director of The Gathering Place, will be recognized as the Nonprofit Executive of The Year through the Medical Mutual 2007 Pillar Award for Community Service presented by Smart Business Magazine. The Pillar Award for Community Service was developed by Smart Business and Medical Mutual to honor businesses and individuals dedicated to making Northeast Ohio a better place to live. The program is designed to demonstrate the tie between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds and showcase best practices. Eileen is honored to accept this award on behalf of The Gathering Place staff and Board of Directors. The award ceremony takes place on December 6 at Landerhaven.
