| The Gathering Place is coming to the West Side |

As we prepare to celebrate eight years of service to individuals and families touched by cancer, The Gathering Place is pleased to announce plans for a West Side location slated to open in Fall 2008 in Westlake.
The new location at 800 Sharon Drive in Westlake, at I-90 and Clague Road, just off of Detroit Road, will be shared with Youth Challenge, a not-for-profit organization providing sports and recreational services to children with physical disabilities and teen volunteers. The Gathering Place will lease approximately 5,000 square feet from Youth Challenge for a children's playroom, a lending library, staff offices and four program rooms, where activities such as support groups, massage and Reiki will take place.
Programs at the West Side location will be similar to those currently offered in Beachwood, and all programs and services will be free of charge. The Gathering Place has hired Dan Gunther as director of operations to launch an $800,000 expansion campaign to provide start up support and operations at the new location. Dan will oversee the new location and program professionals will be hired to staff the lending library, and lead support groups and other programs. Volunteers also will assist those who use The Gathering Place's services on a daily basis.
