Thank you to everyone who made the 2008 Race for the Place a huge success!
Special thanks to Honorary Cancer Survivor Chairperson Regina Brett, Plain Dealer Columnist, for joining us on Race day and inspiring the crowd during our survivor ceremony.
This year, more than 2,900 people registered for the event (including family members, more than 3,200 people attended). Net revenue for the event was more than $272,000 which makes this the largest fundraiser in the history of The Gathering Place.
The Race website is now inactive, if you would like to make a donation to The Gathering Place, please do so through our online donation form which can be accessed through any of the "Donate Online" buttons in the upper left hand corner of our website.

One of the major influences behind the Race was the teams who recruited participants and raised money. Below are the winners of our team awards:
Largest Corporate Team (money and people): Edgepark Medical Supplies
Largest Community Team (people): Patty's Pals
Largest Community Team (money): Arnie's Army
Largest School Team (money and people): Mercer School
Special thanks to Medical Mutual, our Presenting Sponsor, National City and Edgepark Medical, our Lead Sponsors, and all of our corporate sponsors for helping to again make this event a huge success.
All proceeds from Race for the Place help keep our programs and services free of charge for individuals and families touched by cancer.
