THE SURVIVOR
I am a human
Unique
Skipping and/or slowly strolling
A being of beauty
Walking without too many worries
Exquisite to all of existence
I stretch out my wings of humanity
To give with all of my gifts
Continuously searching to spread
Laughter and optimism
With everyone in my path
Friendly and hospitable
I lovingly open my arms to others
But, No! You are not welcome here!
I laugh at your efforts of destruction
And am confident in my treatments
Confused and innocent
Sometimes, I question how to proceed
But, I do have faith
You try to remove me, kill me
Oh, but you are so unaware of my strength
So uneducated of my roots from which, where, what, when, how or why
I was created
You know absolutely nothing about me
And that alone should cause you to tremble in your travels
I know your name
I have seen and/or heard of you before
I know what your plan is
I know what I am up against
And you must know you don’t stand a chance
You came so unexpected, so uninvited
Do not call me your host
You cannot hide from me
I have sought out your shadows
You will crumble in your corner
Yes, you will be defeated
And Yes, I will be cured
Praying and hoping
Healing and coping
Charging myself
So that you will die
To never rise or show your face again
Yes, I will pray to my God
Yes, I will curse your name
Yes, I will whirl wicked words
At your repulsive worth
Who do you think you are?
Yes, I will hate you for all that you are,
For trying to build a home, here, in me
I never asked for or wanted your pity
So you can keep it
Though, I must upset you
Exhaust you
Stab at your scheme
Demolish your intentions
To know that,
You have no purpose here
I have fought with both my fists
And my head is already held high
Because you cannot kill my spirit
And only
I WILL SURVIVE!
