Community Based Fundraisers

The Gathering Place is regularly approached by people in the community who would like to raise money to support our mission.  In addition to the money we receive, each of these events also introduces new people to The Gathering Place. We are very appreciative of all the individuals and organizations who help to make these events possible.  We invite you to view the Celebrating Our Caring Community post recognizing those who supported our free programs and services last quarter. Gathering for Golf is an 18-hole golf tournament to be held on August 21st at the Lakewood Country Club in Westlake along with a special evening cocktail party, A Thousand Stars, on August 20th. Enjoy music, dancing and delicious food under the stars and an exciting golf tournament the next day. Gathering for Golf and A Thousand Stars, in its second year, is hosted by the Lakewood Women’s Golf Association, Save Our Sisters, Save Ourselves, Friends of Avon Oaks and Westwood Country Club to support and benefit The Gathering Place. LoveMuffinPalooza; a weekend of great music sponsored by organizer Love Muffin Records & Distribution out of Cleveland, September 11th, 12th and 13th.  Nightly raffles at each show will benefit The Gathering Place. Kick-off LoveMuffinPalooza Thursday night at the Barking Spider with Dazed and Confused, The Flavor, “Papa” Dave Smeltz, Sean Benjamin, Conor Standish, Liquor City Buddhas and Charlie Weiner (Tip Jar will be passed).  The music moves to Spitfire Saloon Friday night for a free show featuring May Day Riots and Skychief and Saturday, join Polina & The Pyramids, Goodnight Tonight, Kiss Me Deadly and the Luvmthas at Mahall’s in Lakewood (tickets $12).

Lulu’s Yogurt with a Twist is a frozen yogurt shop in Hudson that offers a healthy choice for dessert.  They donate a percentage of profits to The Gathering Place throughout the year.  LuLu’s Yogurt with a Twist is Your Healthy Choice for fun and excitement.


Save Our Sisters Save our Sisters…Save our Selves (SOS SOS) was founded by Maureen Barrett and Kathy Gable creators of a unique line of jewelry custom-designed and exclusively supplied by Broestl and Wallis Fine Jewelers. Proceeds from the jewelry helps to support The Gathering Place.


The Rock Pile is a local landscape supply yard combined with a garden center and bird feeding specialty shop. Their program, Fundraising that Rocks is a year-round program that allows customers to designate a local organization to support through their purchases. A total of 5% before tax of every retail priced purchase will be donated to the cause or organization of the customer’s choosing. Just mention The Gathering Place, and we will receive 5% of your purchase price!


VANITYLAB Salon.Spa.Shop, 24945 Detroit Road Westlake, is the home of Sparkle, a year round artisan jewelry festival featuring the work of more than 50 local Cleveland artists.  Visit VANITYLAB to see all of the unique jewelry.  A portion of the proceeds from Sparkle benefits The Gathering Place.  Call 216-849-2636 for more information.
