Community Based Fundraisers
The Gathering Place is regularly approached by people in the community who would like to raise money to support our mission. In addition to the money we receive, each of these events also introduces new people to The Gathering Place. We are very appreciative of all the individuals and organizations who help to make these events possible. Love Muffin Records will be supporting The Gathering Place for a second year at the annual concert series, LoveMuffinPalooza, on June 13, 14 and 15th. On Thursday June 13th the series will kick off at The Barking Spider, 11310 Juniper Rd, Cleveland, with a folk and singer-songwriter night. Friday’s and Saturday’s concerts will both be at the Maple Grove, 14832 Pease Road, Maple Heights. Friday you can hear hard rock, punk and metal music and Saturday night will feature blues, pop, and rock. Look for fantastic raffle prizes (including a bracelet worth $1,000!) where 100% of the proceeds from raffle sales will benefit The Gathering Place! The Rocky River Chamber of Commerce is hosting a golf outing at Avon Oaks Country Club, 32300 Detroit Road, Avon, on Monday June 17th with breakfast at 9am and a shotgun start at 11am. The cost is $150 and includes golf and a cart, breakfast, a boxed lunch, a pig roast dinner and spirits. The Rocky River Chamber of Commerce will also be selling raffle tickets to benefit The Gathering Place at the event and in advance for great prizes including an HDTV and $500! Neighborfood is an afternoon celebration of food, family and community to be held in Tremont on June 22 from 2-5 pm. This event provides a great way to support The Gathering Place and an opportunity to try different dishes and explore new places in one of Cleveland’s oldest communities. Tickets cost $40 and the purchase includes food at eight Tremont restaurants, including drink specials. Designate The Gathering Place as your preferred charity with the code thegatheringplace when you purchase tickets and Neighborfood will donate $10 to support our free programs and services. Mark your calenders for the first annual event honoring Charles
Bowlus and benefiting The Gathering Place at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, 1100 Rock and Roll Blvd, Cleveland. On Friday, September 6th at 7pm, the hall will start rocking with live music from the band, Disco Inferno! Tickets are $75 per person through August 5th and $85 per person from August 6th to September 5th. The ticket includes food, beer, wine, and access to the museum! A cash bar is also available. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit The Gathering Place.
ONGOING EVENTS
The Popcorn Shop Factory in Chagrin Falls is now selling Chrissy Corn at Heinen’s grocery stores. They are donating $.25 per bag sold to The Gathering Place. The delicious pink popcorn is made with all natural, good tasting cranberry corn in memory of owner Dewey Forward’s sister Christine.

The Rock Pile is a local Landscape Supply Yard combined with a Garden Center and Bird Feeding specialty shop. Their program, Fundraising that Rocks is a year-round program that allows customers to designate a local organization to support through their purchases. A total of 5% before tax of every retail priced purchase will be donated to the cause or organization of the customer’s choosing. Just mention The Gathering Place, and we will receive 5% of your purchase price!

VANITYLAB Salon.Spa.Shop, 24945 Detroit Road Westlake, is the home of Sparkle, a year round artisan jewelry festival featuring the work of more than 50 local Cleveland artists. Hope & Humor, a company offering organic, locally-made clothing for those facing mobility restrictions due to surgery, injury, or aging, is donating 10% of their online profits to The Gathering Place. Thanks to co-owners Melissa Pantel-Ku and Christine Weiss for their support of our work.

Buttons for Believers is a non-profit organization that uses donated buttons to create hand crafted products. These unique pieces are sold and the profits are donated to different causes. Currently, Buttons for Believers is donating its proceeds to The Gathering Place. Help support the fight against cancer by donating buttons to Buttons for Believers or purchasing one of their hand crafted pieces.

Laurello Vineyards, 4573 State Rt. 307 East, Harpersfield Township, Geneva, hosts a delicious dinner event called Pizza for the Place every Thursday from 3:00-7:00. Enjoy enjoy your choice of a small cheese or pepperoni pizza and a side salad for $7.00. Just add a glass of Laurello wine for a truly relaxing experience.
