As we expand our services to further meet the needs of those who are touched by cancer on the West Side of Cleveland, we will incur additional expenses.
The total cost of bringing The Gathering Place to greater
Cleveland’s west side communities is approximately $800,000 (for capital and the first year of operating) and we are currently running an expansion campaign to raise the necessary funds.
These funds will allow us to renovate our space and hire additional professional and clinical staff to provide a full array
of psycho-oncological services. The budget
also covers such costs as rent, utilities, office equipment and programmatic
supplies.
The Gathering Place has actively begun working to fund the
start-up of the second location. Over the next 12 months, donors will be
invited to designate gifts and contributions to fully fund the capital and start-up
costs connected with opening the second location. Once opened all costs
associated with the operation of the second facility will be included in The
Gathering Place’s total operating budget. The goal is to expand services and
strengthen one organization, not to
create a second organization within greater Cleveland. A single Board of
Directors will have oversight and fundraising responsibilities over both
locations.
